About me
I am an attachment-based psychotherapist working in Old Street, Islington.
I believe that psychotherapy has the potential to get to the root of distress. Through a safe and confidential therapeutic relationship, we can come to understand ourselves better and live with more fulfilment, freedom and self-acceptance.
I am a registered member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (MBACP).
My approach
Attachment
In attachment-based psychotherapy, we explore the relationships that shape our life -- both in the past and the present. This helps us create more satisfying connections with others and feel more secure in ourselves.
Psychoanalysis
Trauma
Trauma happens when our mind, body and self are overwhelmed – often resulting from abuse, neglect, violence or loss. I use trauma-informed approaches to reduce overwhelm and disentangle past and present.
Power and oppression
Psychoanalysis seeks to bring our hidden thoughts, feelings and desires out into the open. In doing so, we can get to know ourselves better and gain new freedoms and choices.
I prioritise the impact of power and oppression within my clients' lives and within the therapy relationship. I aim to be an ally to those whose power, identity and humanity have been undermined.
